Mechanica
Mechanica (“the app”, “we”) is a mobile application for vehicle owners and workshops. This page explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. This website is a marketing site only; the app itself is available on iOS and Android.
Who this applies to
This policy covers people who download Mechanica, create an owner or workshop account, or contact us for support. It also covers visitors to this marketing website (which does not provide in-app sign-in).
Information we collect
- Account. Name and mobile number. We send a one-time code (OTP) to verify the number. We do not use a password.
- Profile. Optional profile details you enter, including workshop name, size, address, working hours, and map pin for garage accounts.
- Vehicle and service data. Vehicles you add (type, registration, specs), service jobs and records, parts, expenses, reminders, and ownership transfers you initiate or accept.
- Location. Approximate or precise location, when you allow it, so we can show nearby workshops. You can refuse location and still use the rest of the app.
- Device and diagnostics. App version, device type, and crash or performance reports that help us keep the app stable.
- Support. Email or other messages you send us.
How we use information
We use this information to create and secure your account, provide owner and workshop features, send OTPs, show nearby garages, remember service history, and improve reliability. We do not sell your personal information. We do not show third-party advertising in the app.
Sharing
We share data with service providers who host the API, send messages (such as OTP delivery), and capture crash reports, only as needed to run Mechanica. Workshop public profiles (name, location, hours) may be visible to nearby owners in the app. We may disclose information if required by law.
Retention
We keep account, vehicle, and job records while your account is active so service history stays with the vehicle. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data by emailing support. Some records may be retained where we must meet a legal obligation.
Your choices
- Update profile and vehicle details in the app.
- Turn off location permission in system settings.
- Request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data at the email below.
Children
Mechanica is intended for adults who own vehicles or run workshops. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
This website
This marketing site is static HTML. It does not include sign-up, login, or cookies for advertising. If we later add analytics, we will update this policy.
